Worth visiting!

Family Home

My Father grew up in NM, up in the beautiful NW part of the state. I’ve only been through it a few times—but with the exception of Albuquerque (which is just not very interesting), it’s definitely worth a look.

The painted desert and high country (Santa Fe & NW) is just plain gorgeous.

A review of this place

Just beautiful; I’m not sure about the amenities/cultural activities rates, but the scenery alone is worth the drive.

Cheyenne

Worth visiting!

I went to school here for awhile (middle and high school). It’s a nice small town, with a lot of old/pretty houses and a nice downtown area.

Worth visiting, at least for a few photos and a rodeo (if you’re into that kind of thing).

A review of this place: Don't Drink the Water

As others have said, don’t drink the water in this town—it’s putrid and smells of sulphur. Add that to the fact Lake Nastywater gives the place a bad smell and sticky feeling during the summer, and you’ve arrived at only part of the reason this town stinks.

Besides the people—which are standard Texan-friendly—I say maybe gas up and hit the pedal. If you have to stay for any extended period of time (like I did, for the Air Force), have plenty of alcohol available to dull the sensation.

Keep Driving

I lived here for three years (when I was in the Air Force). With the exception of the immediate downtown area, which is slowly revitalizing, there’s very little cultural activity in Augusta—which is sad, since real estate is cheap and the place is beautiful (the humidity, of course, is stifling).

Its greatest asset could be the fact that Savannah and Charleston are an easy drive away.

Ipswich

Worth visiting!

Visited Ipswich a lot when I was living w/ my family in nearby Coddenham in the early 90’s (my stepfather was stationed at RAF Woodbridge).

Great place; good shopping, the locals are nice (in general, they are in Suffolk), and it’s got a certain feel to it that you just lose in bigger cities.

Unless it’s changed drastically, worth a look.

Coddenham

The early 90's

I lived here with my family in the early 90’s, when my step-father was stationed at nearby RAF Woodbridge. I love this little village; we used to live right next to Broom Hill.

Brugge in 1993

Back in 1993 I visited brugge with my family; we came over on teh ferry from Felixtowe (by step-father was is the AF at the time, and stationed in Suffolk). I remember walking around this beautiful town, eating at about every coffeeshop and cafe my mother could find (there were many), and just loving every minute of it.

If you like chocolate, btw, you can’t miss this place.

Las Vegas

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

I’ve lived in Vegas, on and off, throughout my life. Don’t forget that there’s places to see off the Strip. Check out the Summerlin and Green Valley areas, and don’t forget to visit Red Rock (NW of town) and the Hoover Dam (SE of town).

Don’t bother staying at Circus Circus, the Orleans, the Showboat, or the Stratosphere—they’re cheap for a reason, and most of them (especially the Stratosphere) are located in the areas of town that can be pretty dangerous.
