We had booked our tickets last spring after dreaming about going to Oaxaca for many years. We had planned to stay 3 weeks in the capital city and be there for El Dia de los Muertos. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip because of the civil unrest that’s been going on over the last year. We thought about going anyway but we decided it wasn’t the best way to see the place and I was 4 months pregnant at the time too so we didn’t want to get stuck somewhere without being able to get out of town. We were very very very sad though. I guess we’ll go another year.

I wish I lived next door. I would go there all of the time.

My husband, sister and I went here a month or so ago. Super fun! I love the pizza. The atmosphere is great!

I’ve been here several times and I love it. I’ve had wonderful dates with my husband here, great times with friends and enjoyed just relaxing. Very nice.

My husband and I drove to the world championship bike race that took place there a few years ago in the fall. The bike race colored our visit there for sure, as did the red fall leaves on the trees.

and intimate. A Garden in and out. I happened to go on a Sunday with Music - what luck! Spending time at the Noguchi museum felt like taking a deep breath. One of my favorite museums - and favorite places—I’ve ever visited.

One of my favorite permanent collections to revist. I love spending inordinant amounts of time with the Picassos especially. Also, even though it may be cliche, Starry Starry Night by Van Gogh is truely a dreamy painting. Especially in person, especially when you can spend a while with it and really look. But there are so many wonderful works by artists great and small that I just love this museum. Also the building is very cool—If I lived in New York I’m sure I would join the museum just so I could hang out in the scupture garden somewhat regularly. The exhibits I’ve been to have been great too.

Kind of like the aliens maybe, my friends and I zipped once around and out during a longer journey.

Some friends and I drove to Texas for spring Break during college and went back-packing at Big Bend National Park for the week. I had never back-packed in dry conditions and was surprised at the amount of water I needed to carry. One of us had the bright idea that we could boil water from the Rio Grande. I think I was the only one to drink the water we attempted to boil. I was the only one to get sick on that trip as well. I suppose there was a connection. Despite this, I loved the trip; especially the hike we took by full-moon light. Me Encanta la luna.
