Technically I have been in Botswana a few times. Went through all the effort to get across the border to drive a few kilometers to a farm where we celebrated a friends birthday.

I’ll have to go again to see some of the cities etc.

I’ve been there twice and enjoyed it both times. First time when I was 12 and again at 25. I have to admit that I was a more eager at age 12 to go on the rides!!! Is it fear or wisdom that prevents one from going all out?

I screamed like crazy on some of the rides during my last visit… not out of enjoyment, but out of real fear for my life… I’m such a sissy!!! My sisters who went with me thought it was entertaining to see me stress ;)

I won’t go on rides like this again – I’m just a true scaredy cat.

My visit to Clarens was one of my best memories for 2005, even though it was EXTREMELY cold when we went. The landscape is beautiful (we visited the Golden Gate National Park while we were there) and there are quite a number of art galleries.

My friend is getting married in October, so we are going on a trip to Clarens for a weekend in September as a kind-of farewell. We share our love of art, so I’m sure it’s going to be a GREAT trip :)))

We had a book by Daleen Mathee that we had to read in high school. It’s about lumberjacks working in the Knysna Forest… well my shortened version in any case ;)

It’s a lovely forest next to the sea. Elephants used to wander through the trees, but only a few are left and are spotted on rare occasions. Rather sad actually.

There is so much to do and see, whatever your preference might be!!! From urban bustle to sedated farm life or nature walks. My preference is somewhere in between, but I still have a load of places I want to visit in my own country :)
