When going to Cagayan de Oro City, expect a small developing city. People are still laid back and has a provincial atmosphere. Tricycles or locally called Motorelas still ply within the city center. Cagayan de Oro lost all of its old Spanish buildings (including the old San Agustin Church built in 1845) during World War II. The entire town was bombarded by the Americans to flush out the entrenched Japanese soldiers. For more information/tips about Cagayan de Oro City, visit my website at
