My parent worked for the establishment, we lived upstairs. I was pretty young, but I remember some of it! Want to go back!

We stayed at the Palaces (Moon)... we visited the other hotels but liked the Moon Palace the best. The food was so-so, but their chocolate cake was wonderful—I had it every meal they served it!! Don’t eat the burgers, I’m not sure what they were made out of!

This is where we got married in 2003.

We had been derailed on New Years eve in 2003 over Donner Pass… I had booked the room over the net, and the service refused to refund our lost night at the hotel… when we got to the hotel we explained to them what had happened (we’d spent 17 hours on a train in the mountains with now power or bathrooms) and they refunded our lost night and were happy to help us out by letting us in the room early!! Great Hotel!!
