    Worth visiting!

I love you Tim.  — 2 years ago

Or rather, I love your work. It’s so ingenious. It’s so good. If this exhibit comes to town, don’t miss it, you’ll be glad you didn’t. Having museums such as LACMA available to me everyday is one reminder why I like living in Los Angeles, every major work of art/music worth seeing/hearing about comes through here.

Tip for starving artists and students: LACMA is free after five post meridiem every day.

US Open Week!  — 2 years ago

I would love to be in New York this week and spend it watching Tennis (or Hewitt or Federer) ;-). It would be so much fun, but it’s a bit unrealistic, seeing that I already have travelling time set aside in October/November (three cousins are getting married, so there will be three weddings). This goal will have to wait until next year or the next. For now I will have to tune in to the midnight updates, as my cable station is only playing tennis in mid-morning, while I’m at work. Tsk tsk tsk.

    Mexico City

    Worth visiting!

    Untitled  — 3 years ago

Know that I am a bit biased when I recommend this trip because it is my homeland. Having said that, there’s plenty of things to do and see in Mexico, if you have time to spare be sure to talk to the locals, we’re friendly people and you will definitely get hospitality.

The photo above was taken at one of the many museums that I visited last year (the resolution sucks, I was trying to fit too many photos on my camera).

The scroll at the lower right hand corner of the painting reads:

“AQUI SE REPRESENTA EL CORAZON DE LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO TAL Y COMO SE VE DESDE ARRIBA DEL MONUMENTO DE LA REVOLUCION EN DIRECCION AL ORIENTE.”

Which translates to, “Here is represented the heart of Mexico just as it is seen from above The Revolution Monument to the East direction.”

Addendum: the painting was made in the early 1900’s, and the main street pictured is “Paseo de La Reforma” which is still around and is one of the main avenues in Mexico. The horse monument in the painting has been replaced by the iconic “El Ángel” which is Mexico’s independence monument.
