I’ll be driving through the entire northern portion of the state next week on my way from TX to FL to see the in-laws for the holidays. I’ve lived in both TX and FL, but have never made the drive between the two, so this’ll be interesting. :)

The Vortex was installed in 1992 by Bollinger and Mabillard of Switzerland. This ride is known as a “stand-up” coaster. It stands 90 feet tall, and has a running time of about 2:19. It reaches speeds of 50 miles per hour, and travels a span of 2,040 feet. It has two 28-person, 8 car trains which can move about 1,240 passengers in an hour’s time.

When I first added this place, it was called Friendly Hills Apartments. I lived here for a year and a half, but during that time, new management came in and changed the name to Westborough Apartments. The entire place looks different now due to construction, but I’m keeping these pics up to remember what it used to look like. :)

I think the one at the address listed here is out of business now, but there is another Greensboro location that’s brand-spanking-new and I still want to visit that one!
This one was nice, though. Small and tucked away next to my old apartment complex. I started the night of my 21st birthday there. :)

The good news is, I’ve never seen it crowded! Moving through security has been a breeze every time I’ve flown out of here.

I attended UNCG for all of undergrad, and absolutely loved it. :)
