Masca, Tenerife

A mini adventure

Certainly one of the most undeveloped scenic locations in Tenerife! Comprised of a couple of groups of houses perched in the upper part of a ravine, that you can hike down to the sea. The downward hike takes 2-3 hours but if you want to spare yourself the hike back up, you can catch a boat along the short stretch of coast to Acantilado, spotting dolphins on the way; then return on the bus (changing at Santiago). There’s a couple of places to stay, and a number of little restaurants to juice-up or watch the sunset.

PastelerĂa El Aderno

Somewhat surprisingly, there’s a rather good French-style patisserie called El Aderno in this cute and quiet little town. Worth a detour for!

Amet Haveli, Udaipur

Untitled

The Amet Haveli is an elegant lakeside villa isolated from the bustle on the tip of a small peninsular in the lake, has rooms on two floors around a small dipping pool, courtyard, and lawn. The adjoining Ambrai restaurant offers good Indian dishes, and has what’s got to be the best view in town across the lake, be it breakfast or supper time.

Most but not all rooms have a lake view. Note electricity does go off for periods, rooms are simple but nice, although 5-6 back onto the restaurant patio so may be noisy until passed 11pm. +912942431085 amethaveli@sify.com
