If you’re young and still looking for adventure, so to speak, then I don’t recommend the area—I attended high school nearby and was mostly frustrated at the lack of things to do.

On the upside, it’s a very nice place to settle down and retire or have kids, or have a career-it’s quiet and pretty safe and has decent schools, just not for me-the occasional trip to see my parents is about all I can take at once.

I grew up here, so I’m a bit prejudiced, I suppose.

I’ve lived in the area for a good seven years, and I love it. Yes, the city is a bit dirty, and violent, but it somehow still manages to be charming. I look forward to going back to it in between jobs.
