We got off the train at the last stop in Switzerland (Buchs) and walked from one side of Liechtenstein to the other, then got back on the train in Feldkirch, the first stop in Austria. It’s the way to go really – how many people can say they’ve walked across an entire country?

Also, if you’ve got a bit of time, hike up into the mountains. There’s not much going on in the towns, but there are some beautiful hiking trails running through the country.

no matter WHAT you do in paris, be sure to stop in as many boulangeries as possible. the baked goods in this city are absolutely incredible.

I lived with a family in Zwolle for four months and it was wonderful. I got to truly experience the Dutch ways of life: biking in both sunshine and snow, eating bread for breakfast and lunch EVERY DAY, buying fresh stroopwafels from the market, and even learning a little bit of Dutch! It’s a nice little city and I’d recommend a visit for anyone spending a little time in the Netherlands.
