The first time I went to this place
We were traveling through to get to CA. We stayed overnight in the town of Lincoln. I thought it was nice.

I saw tons of wind generators all in a row. I also stayed at the Holiday Inn at Rock Springs. Very different from the Midwest, where I spent my whole life in (this was on a cross country drip moving from IL to CA). It’s very beautiful, though I can only speak from my experience during the summer. I want to go back again and see it all properly next time!

The Woodstock Opera House is so charming! I’ll miss it when I go. Wonderful theatre, music programs and ballets, go there if you ever have a chance!

OK, OK, I will admit the square is charming and all, but I spent five years out of my life here….and that was enough! Cute little town, but no where you would want to live! Weirdos are out at all hours of the day, and it quickly lost its small town charm for me!

San Fran is the best part and most diverse! Forget the LA scene!

Blech. Not that great. I went out with my husband for a business trip and it was boring. I guess I shouldn’t have expected much, but I thought it would be prettier and people would be nicer there….nope, just another phony extension of LA. Visit Glendale, instead, I felt more at home there and the town looked cleaner and nicer.

And the ONLY reason I say it’s worth visiting is for Sinnissippi Gardens. They have a lovely conservatory filled with plants and some birds, and in the summer it’s just beautiful. Otherwise, blech. Rockford sucks.

I went to House on the Rock the first time with a bunch of my friends and we had a good time. I was about 16 or so and it was pretty weird, but we all enjoyed th interesting sights, in particular the only Merry Go Round ever without any horses! We went during Christmas, so the house was decorated all over, in every exhibit! If you go during the colder months, some outer parts of the house will be closed due to heating issues.
A year or so later I went back with my parents and brother and enjoyed it just as much. It was in May, so some resturants weren’t open, but the rest of the House that I missed seeing with my friends was. There are plenty of places to eat, lots of gift shops, exhibits that play music (just need a few tokens), fabrege eggs, old cars, weird structures…the list goes on! You will never see anything like this and I suggest a visit at least once in your life! I plan on taking my husband there-he hasn’t experienced the weirdness yet!
