Richmond Hill

Royal Ontario Museum

Worth visiting!

It's been a long time

I remember being here once or twice (more?) in the past. I think once with family, and another was a school trip. I prefer the Science Centre but there’s actually a lot you can learn at museums.

I think I saw that restaurant once on a long walk so I must have been here.

Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill is a nice quaint town (though the population’s actually rather high) which Yonge street runs right through so you can take the Go Bus and subway south to Toronto, though it takes a heck of a long time to get there. There’s a public library right on major mack so you can attend there, I actually work there.

At around Elgin Mills and Yonge more developement is happening, new houses and stuff, and the capital High School (RHHS, I used to attend) was rebuilt 5 years ago with superb technology. In fact, in 2000 it was rated the #1 non-private school in Ontario! Including private schools it ranks #4. This ranking is likely outdated.

There is also a Go Bus Station on Newkirk and Major Mack, you can take that to and from Toronto as well. I’ve never used it, which is actually sort of silly, because it’d probably be faster… so easy to ignore.

It’s also the birthplace of Elvis Stojko, Canadian Olympic Gold winning figure skater! Yay!

York Region

Worth visiting!

York Region

York Region is a district within Ontario about an hour north of Toronto. It includes Richmond Hill, Oak Ridges, Thornhill, Peel, and some others. It’s pretty neat, probably a lot safer than the city and a much better environment though much of it risks developement.
