In my opinion, this is a much more imposing and opulent building than the Notre Dame in Paris. Underrated.

Luxemboring

To be fair (and to be thankful) we only stayed here for about four hours between destinations on our Study Abroad trip. This is a highly commercialized city with some decent scenery, and if you’ve not been many places around Europe, you’ll probably think it’s amazing. I had been all around Europe by that point so it struck me as ostentatious, and lacking in substance. Some lip balm cost about 6 Euros there which was roughly about $8 USD at the time. It’s definitely not a cheap city…keep that in mind.

If you want to just stop by, go ahead…but from what I can tell I would NOT dedicate too much time to the city.

Savannah, Georgia

I stayed near downtown Savannah...

…and it was worth visiting. There are a lot of clubs within a close proximity so if you stay downtown you can easily walk back to your hotel room after the madness. There are also a lot of divey bars, some with karaoke—so there’s something for everyone. Worth a trip. Check out the club that features nothing but alcoholic smoothies. MMMM…
