Aosta, Valle d'Aosta

Untitled

Aosta is an old Roman town in Northern Italy close to the French and Swiss borders. It doesn’t offer anything “to do” as such, but the town itself certainly has a pleasant family atmosphere and with many Roman ruins still present around the area it can be nice just wondering around. It’s considerably cheaper than much of the rest of North Italy, and is definitely less touristy and cheaper. A well recommended visit for a taste of quieter local life.

Geneva, Canton of Geneva

Expensive

GenevĂ© is an extremely expensive city. Filled mostly with businessmen it doesn’t have much to offer to visitors – although the city itself is pleasant and, particularly in summer, can be quite vibrant. To experience the lake, if that’s your aim of the visit, you might want to consider also the quieter towns of Montreux or Lausanne.

Slovenia, Europe

Small, but sweet

A small but pleasant country, with some beautiful architecture and friendly people. Not as vibrant as some other Eastern European nations perhaps (with cities such as Prague in the Czech Republic), but Slovenia has a nice relaxed atmosphere and, if not going there exclusively, is definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the vacinity.
