Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

Untitled

I have a friend who lives in SLC, and he’s invited me down to go white water rafting somewhere in southern Utah with him this summer. I think it’s called Cataract Canyon.

But first, he’s going to take me around SLC for a few days and show me the sights. I’m really excited, as I’ve never seen the midwest before, and this will be my first experience out there. In fact, I’ve never ridden on a plane before either, so this will really be uncharted territory for me.

Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

Untitled

A friend of mine and I went yesterday, and it was amazing. We saw all of the major monuments in the mall in one day!

We missed the last tour of the Capitol building, but a security guard told us we could get to sit in on a session of Senate if we got a ticket from one of our state senators, so we booked it over to the Senate office building as fast as we could, and we didn’t make it back in time because the Senate was out of session when we got back (I guess they finish at 2).

Anyway, we got to sit in the House of Representatives room (where the president gives the State of the Union address) and the Supreme Court courtroom, and we visited the Library of Congress, the House of Reps Office Building, the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pool, the WW2 Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, the White House, and some Smithsonian Museums.

I’d reccommend visiting to anyone, because it’s really one of the only places that you can go in the world where you can see so much in such a short period of time, because everything is so close!

Hersheypark, Hershey

Untitled

It really is just great fun.

I highly recommend the chocolate factory tour, it’s fun, and you get a free Hershey’s bar when it’s all over with.

The rides are great, and there’s no over-emphasis on roller coasters for those of you who aren’t particularly fond of riding roller coasters.

The focus is on fun at Hersheypark, and they have a lot of ways available for you to have a great time!
