Castle Bran

Worth visiting!

When the cow's come home

Not exactly about Dracula’s castle, but was told to use, in the shadows of…
My dad and I were going through eastern Europe, the summer after The WALL fell (‘90)- obviously, went to Dracula’s castle. We had lunch at a “restaurant” in the town below the castle…Now, I don’t know how it is today, but back then, every restaurant in eastern Europe seemed to have a printed menu with many items, but really, they only had 1-3 things that were actually advertised…This was true at this particular eatery, and we laughed about it with a couple German tourists…they told us a story about being in another restaurant in Romania (I think)-They asked for milk, and the server said “yes, but you have to wait for the cows to come in” Sure enough, a little while latter, they could hear the cows coming in, and soon after…Milk.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Hiking, camping, scenic drives-Yes
Skiing and snowboarding-NO
Awesome views, climb 14,000 ft. peeks…
and the locals have been “crusing” the main drag since the 40’s(i’m not a local, but have friends and family that are)- the more things change the more they stay the same…
September is probably the best-less crowds, great weather, elks bugeling…Stephen King wrote “the shining” at the Stanley, and the TV movie version was filmed there(not the one with Nicholson)...

Paris

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I was 5 years old, and moved there for 2 years, moved back for another two years in Middle school…(french schools all 4 years.)
Unbelievable amount of things to do…
If you know A LITTLE French, and try to assimilate, you’ll (usually) be LOVED…if you are the stereotype of “American Tourist” you may feel shunned and loathed at times…Whenever people would find out I was American, after talking with me in French, etc…they would be SO HAPPY that I was speaking their language, etc…I definitly had to help American Tourists who didn’t speak French, and were treated quite rudely….
My Favorite City…It truly is “a moveable feast”
