It seems that all the pandas do is sleep. So avoid the crowds and try to find the free-ranging tamarins in the trees, or see if the prarie dogs are out.

Great desserts. Do they still have the frozen lemon pie?

Got married at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and our families stayed at a house close by. Nice quiet neighborhood.

My memories of Cyprus when I visited as a child: We stayed in Paphos in a house near the beach which was great. My luggage was lost so I had to buy a new swimsuit and all they had were tiny speedos. I had been living abroad for over a year at that point so I was starved for video games and wanted to spend all my time in a nearby hotel playing Donkey Kong. I got my first pair of glasses in Paphos. And I had my first fried calamari at a waterfront restaurant there also. I was eating it because I thought it was fried clams but then my parents told me that it was squid and I stopped eating it. But now, as an adult, I can’t get enough.

It is great to see, but can be quite hazy during the midday hours – which is when I passed through. Amazing nonetheless.

Went for my 30th Birthday. Stayed in the Luxor hotel. Had a nice dinner at Le Cirque, and hit lots of buffets. I think the one in the Paris hotel is the best.

One of my favorite places in my home state. And it doesn’t rain as much as the rest of western Washington, or so I have heard, because it is just east of the Olympic mountains.

I have only been to Hawaii twice, yet I feel like I belong there. My Mom grew up there, go I grew up eating Haupia and learning Pidgin. My ultimate goal in life is to retire in a Hawaiian beach house, where I can eat pickled mango until the end of my days. And shave ice, malasadas, li hing mango, plate lunch, etc… You get the idea.

It was summer, and was pretty hot and humid, with lots of mosquitos. But I had a nice time, ate in some nice restaurants, and insisted on oredring from the French menu even though I barely speak French. I ended up eating a lot of Moules Frites.
