This is one of my favorite restaurants in WashDC. The atmosphere is hip and diverse, and the food is perfect in a laid-back kind of way. You can get a gourmet pizza—choose one from the list or specify it to your liking. The antipasti and cheeses are a great addition—try it with the red fizzy wine.

I grew up in the Munhall/Homestead area. It’s pretty strip-mall and chain-commercial right now, with the addition of the Waterfront. In a few years, though, the area will probably find itself room to grow and heal after the loss of the steel mills. It is still in the early stages. The streets still hold a bit of blue collar history. The smoke stacks are visible from afar, and you can note the years of construction atop older buildings along 8th Ave. The Carnegie Library of Homestead is also worth a visit, as well as the park behind it. Many churches are still standing from their earlier days, too. Buildings that haven’t been renovated still bear the dark exterior stains from the mills’ glory days.
