Times Square, Theater District

shooter... WHAT!

I was staying at ahotel on about 6th avenue and 57th, just around from time square. Popped out one evening after a meeting and wondered up to a club just off time square. Made it to the top of the escalator, heard a pretty loud bang, then someone called out Shooter, people started bailing out I got straight back on the down, didn’t even get into the club in the end, and then wandered back down the street as cops came out of everywhere and started pulling people over and holding them along the footpath.

Not an ideal experience, but thats the US sometimes.

Cu Chi Tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City

unbelievable, yet ofcourse completely...

cu chi tunnels blow your mind, as you walk through the area (go with someone who was around at the time, a guide for this one), you are slowly but surely winding yourself back to the time.

Then you see these tunnels. 250km underground tunnel network, where people who are trying to survive against the biggest firepower ever unleashed in the world; the US invasion of Vietnam.

one of the greatest things I’ve seen ever…

Malaysia, Asia

sticky city, good food...

Malaysia was my first taste of Asia, and walking around the streets of KL until the early hours you get a couple of outstanding meals from roadside stalls for a few bucks, chat to some good people, and get an idea of how hard and long alot of people live.

I remember being caught in a tropical rainshower, that drenched me entirely in about 20 seconds flat, which I didnt mind except my cel phone, which was impossible to cover. An Indeonesian immigrant family sheltered under their home/business a corrofgated lean too, saw me and waved me in.

Some freshly cooked roti from the nanna of the family and cold bag of juice and I was sitting on some little chairs trying to communicate, embarrased of my lack of any language.

As is often the case, they refused any money, and were just pleased to have been able to help me, love, love these people!!!!
