last visit was march of 2007. the food was delish, especially their gallo pinto (translation: spotted rooster) and their plantanos maduros. i ate those 2 items for the entire duration of the trip. breakfast, lunch and dinner. the only exception being 1 dinner where i opted for pizza. it was always appetizing. their roads are exceptionally bumpy but it made the drive that much more entertaining. the folks i interacted with were friendly and most helpful.

the first and last time i visited this place was in june of 2004. i did the 4 day and 3 night hike. difficult but doable and this is coming from someone who doesn’t work out regularly. you have the option to hire a porter to carry your gear, otherwise it’ll be on your back. bring plenty of snackies to keep you energized as you will be hiking for numerous hours during the day. plenty of photo

opts. no showers for the first 2 nights but on the 3rd night they are available. on the last nite, i was hurling from heat exhaustion and dehydration. soooo, dress appropriately (don’t forget a sun hat) and keep the body hydrated. and pack light. i ended lugging a whole bunch of clothes & gear that i didn’t end up using. contact me with any specific questions and i’ll try my best to help you out.
