Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I went to the air show in Oshkosh way back in the day. It was awesome. Saw the Harrier Jet back when it was still a pretty sweet phenomenon. And it was the last flights of the British Airways Concord Jet.

Bali

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I was young, but it was beautiful. Even as a child I was able to barter for a few items at the market. Fresh fruits, great tea, spectacular beaches and waves (I got rolled pretty bad once while I was swimming). Bali is a definite destination to visit or, for me, return to!

Angkor Wat

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

The best way to experience Angkor Wat is this 10 Step Process ;)
1. Arrive in Siem Reap by taxi from Poi Pet (from Arunyaprutet, Thailand – from Bangkok). You’ll drive the rockiest road you’ve ever been on… for 4 hours! Yay!

2. Find a guesthouse. I suggest the Red Lodge (www.redlodgeangkor.com)

3. Find a Tuk-Tuk driver that will take you around Angkor Wat the next morning

4. Tell them to pick you up at least an hour before sunrise (figure out what time that would be)

5. (The next morning) Take the tuk-tuk to Angkor Wat (soak up the morning air) and don’t forget a flashlight! It’ll really help when walking in to the temples in the dark.

6. Find yourself a spot overlooking the square pond. It’ll be the north side of the main path. If you want to you can borrow a chair from one of the little restaurant shops on the northside by the trees. But definitely have breakfast there after the sun is up. Some really great food!

7. Take loads of pictures as the beauty and scene will change with every minute of the sunrise. Get the temples reflecting off the pond… ooo, fantastic!

8. Run around the Temples for a while, there’s many of them to see.

9. Check out the sweet Discovery Channel/Nat’l Geographic video on Angkor Wat while having lunch at one of the little cafes

10. Pay your tuk-tuk drivers well, offer them a coke. And after a day of walking around the Temples, nothing is better than the best and cheapest foot/body massages you’ll ever get in Siem Reap. So cash in on that.

Rushmore & Prairie Dogs...

I’ve been to Mt Rushmore twice and both times I enjoyed it. It’s really quite of feat of art and engineering. Crazy horse (if they ever finish it) will be even more amazing! I look forward to that being completed.

One of my trips through South Dakota I was on a hunting trip with my grandpa and we stopped on a farmers land and shot prairie dogs for a while. What a blast! Seriously, those disease carrying varmits are like a game!

Giant's Causeway

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Unreal...

This place is one of the most amazing natural specimens I’ve ever seen. The hexagon shaped columns shooting up various heights out of the ground. All of the surrounding area is very beautiful as well.

Adobe Houses

My aunt and uncle used to live in Albuqurque. They had this sweet adobe house (sizeable). All the land around them for some distance (in their neighborhood) was all sand or pebbles or rocky. Kind of ugly as far as the land goes, but it’s a neat place and I always enjoyed visiting that area.

Yellowstone National Park

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Beautiful Yellowstone

I’ve been here a couple of times. Saw the wildlife: Buffalo, Rams, Elk, Moose, etc etc. It’s awesome! And the natural beauty of the land is great also. Camping near Yellowstone is fantastic. Stars galore! Just icing on the cake.
