Snookie

I don’t have a lot to say about it, just noticed it wasn’t on 43 things yet. Probably as not much to say… dodgey but not the worst. Mark and I have been there but not for long stays. It’s not far from the area where we lived. One of our flatmates in Tooting grew up in Morden and said it’s shite.

Hmmm, I’m only saying it’s worth going as the surrounding areas are beautiful allowing you to explore and wander in the woods at your leisure. There were also ducks outside the holiday homes, which I loved. Mark and I woke up every morning and fed them out our windows! The whole idea of Broome Park seemed so romantic it’s why we chose it as our honeymoon destination a few years ago. To be honest, the rooms were not great. The showers trickled water… not enough pressure. The linens left for us were stale smelling and they wanted to charge us to get fresh! There were also cobwebs and spiders behind the blinds of the sliding glass patio doors.

This place was for rich old golfers LOL. Still, we had a good time playing snooker, games, etc. Had a few drinks in the bar… a few mind you as they were extremely expensive! The restaurant was so expensive we didn’t even eat at it. Who would when Nando’s is a short bus trip into Canterbury’s and we’d rather spend our money eating there… mmmm!

Mark and I did have romantic times exploring the woods and on one of those outings I found a long unharmed partridge feather. Finding a feather means good luck. It is said that finding a feather on your path tells you you are on the right path. I thought that was very symbolic being we were about to be wed!

Overall, Broome Park is a quite getaway.

Palmerston Lodge aka Eurolodge gb boasts itself as the only Grade A listed Georgian building in Scotland used for tourist accommodation. The entrance and hallway feature magnificent hand crafted wooden architecture and a stunning fireplace, which really was beautiful. The spiral carved stairway leads to the second floor which boasts an outstanding domed roof which is admired by everyone. Overall, this was a far sight better than some hostels my husband and I have stayed in. I wouldn’t call it amazing as after all it’s a hostel. However, we were glad that we got a private room for a decent price (best deal we could find). It is located a short walking distance from the centre of Edinburgh and Princes St, and the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. The staff wasn’t overly friendly, but was decent. Breakfast served was tea, ceral, milk, toast. The laundry room was close to our room and we used it for free. There were a lot of spare towels and such hanging about so we helped ourselves (we were in need of supplies by that point of our trip). Also, snagged a couple extra pillows LOL. Anyhow, it was a good place to stay. I heard some bad reviews of this hostel but can honestly say while we were there it was very quite and decent. Oh, toilets… not the best but definitely in working order and good shower pressure, which was nice for a change. Overall, I would say it’s a good inexpensive choice if looking to stay in Edinburgh.

and Mary Poppins was the best West End show was the BEST I’ve ever seen! Here or Broadway!

an Avenue Q was halarious. It’s a must see!

It’s perfect place for Snuffy and I to sit in our back garden talking about life while eating chicken salad sandwiches and drinking lemonade :-)

How can one describe the most amazing place? Let me just say there is no place like home! Snookie Towers is a place where Snuffy and I can do all the things we love together and just enjoy life. It is our beloved home. There is a Snookie Towers NY too :-P
