Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I spent hours taping the baseboards in my new loft (preparing to paint). And I’m still not done yet. Ahhhh, home.

A review of this place: excellent bulgogi

I grew up eating Korean food, so you’d think my taste would be more exotic than bulgogi, rice and kimchee. But my fave dish by far is the simple sliced beef dish called bulgogi. And this place has the best bulgogi so far, in my inexperienced opinion (I haven’t tried that many Korean restaurants). And it’s only eight bucks!

Montreal

june 2006?

My girlfriends and I have talked about going to Montréal next summer…I really hope it pans out since it’s at the top of my list! Hopefully I’ll be marking this as “been there” in less than a year.

found the place I want to stay

This place looks amazing. Too bad I’ll have to save up for like 5 years to spend a week there.

Pisa

(in Italy > Toscana)

Worth visiting!

what a neat experience

I went to Pisa on a week-long field trip in the 5th grade (I lived in Germany at the time.) This was before the Leaning Tower was closed for renovations, and I got to climb up the tower and walk out on each level. I remember what an odd feeling that was…on one side, I felt like I was falling up against the wall, and the other side, I felt like I needed to hang onto the wall so I didn’t fall off. We also visited a domed building nearby (I don’t know what it’s called…just a memory) and there was a choir singing. They would sing one note and stop singing, but the note hung in the air like magic. They proceeded to sing a series of notes, one note at a time, and each note hung in the air to build layer upon layer of a beautiful harmony, until each one began to disappear like fog dissipating in the morning sunlight. Even as a fifth-grader, I felt like it was just a beautiful, magical experience.

Hawksnest Ski Resort

Not worth visiting!

very unpredictable conditions

If you have the ability to go here on a moment’s notice and you find out they will get good snow, it might be worth it. But for someone like me who lives a few hours away, I’ve found the conditions to be too unpredictable and way too icy most of the times I’ve gone.

Carlsbad Caverns

Worth visiting!

wish it wasn't so tourist-y

It’s weird having paved walkways and such in a cave. But it’s still a neat place to visit nonetheless.

Not worth visiting!

but I can't say for sure

I lived here when I was a kid. I can’t really say what it’s like as an adult.
