This was the most amazing trip!!! We went to Playa de Ocotal for 4 days & enjoyed the ocean, then we went to Arenal for 5 days and enjoyed the volcano & rainforest. Costa Rica is amazing. The only negative is that there are 4 kinds of roads: paved (the minority), paved with major potholes, gravel with major potholes, and rocks. Rent a vehicle w/4WD! My husband did an amazing job researching & planning the trip before we went, so we had the best time ever because of the time & effort he put in ahead of time. The weather while we were there was beautiful the entire time. We had the most amazing sunset the night we got married. We saw the volcano each day & lava each night while we were there (we were told we were lucky). Some of the activities we did: rappeling down waterfalls, ziplines through the rainforest canopy, snorkeling in the ocean, jumping off a cliff into a waterfall (can’t believe he got me to do that- I don’t even like the high dive!), ATV tour, horseback riding to a waterfall, at one set of waterfalls we even got a guide dog to lead us down, hiking, visited some hanging bridges, he went whitewater kayaking, visited the hot springs at Tabacon. We ate & drank anything we wanted & never got sick. Wonderful, wonderful trip!! :)
