Amish Country

I have always had an avid interest in the Amish, and their beautiful quilts they make. I love to cook using a lot of their recipes. So, we used to visit Lancaster County on a regular basis while we lived in Maryland. I was even lucky enough to see the Liberty Bell while in Penn. Neat place to visit.

The last time I went to this place

I spent a weekend here on my to New York. While we were here, my husband’s uncle dedicated our daughter to God in his church. I had a great weekend visiting with lots of family I had never meet before.

Food to Die For!

I have to P.R. twice. The first time for three weeks, and the second for a week. I love the water, the beaches, the people, but most of all the food. I even learned to cook it.

Sun Burn 101 adn Dysentery

I spent a week at a resort here. Beautiful, but the poverty will shock all spoiled Americans. I had 45 sunscreen on, and lounged under the shade of a palm tree. However, I still managed to get such severe burns that I no longer grow hair on the front of my legs. Plan on taking some medicine just in case you eat or drink something that will cause you to get dysentery. It is not pretty, but thank the Lord the in laws are doctors. They made me pack some meds, and it saved me when I was hit hard one night. :~) I would still go back again.

Howler Monkeys

I was walking with my daughter in a stroller when I noticed branches falling all around me. Hearing some rustling in the canopy above me, I looked up and discovered about twenty monkeys following me. I was told that I was lucky they did not throw something else at me. They are fond of slinging poo at people. LOL I lived there for two years, and the wildlife, ocean, and rainforest were the most beautiful things I have ever seen next to Alaska.
