We got stuck there...
We broke down on the interstate on our way through and stayed over a night in Tifton. The people there were soooo nice! Thanks for making a forced stay a decent one :D

without a penny to my name and still wasn’t hungry! The people were kind and hospitable and it was so remarkably beautiful… I felt like I was in a bubble! I’d love to go back and get to know the “nicer” side with a little bit of money!

I’ve heard great stories about hot springs in the mountains, seen beautiful pictures of the Pacific and redwoods… one of these days – I’ll get the chance!

My husband and I went to Charleston for his brother’s wedding. The weather was great and the people were all really nice. The wedding was beautiful!

I got married on Cocoa Beach at sunrise on July 30, 2006! We had the beach to ourselves – it was amazing and intimate.

I was born at Darnall Hospital. A year and a half later, we moved away (typical Army Brat).
I’ve been back to visit and there just isn’t anything remarkable about that place at all (other than that I was born there, of course!).

I lived in this small town for about 4 years (that rainbow picture was taken from my backyard on the corner of Franklin and McLendon Streets!).
I love that it’s close to all the hot spots tourists love but without all the traffic and crime. The community is quaint and conservative, and quite welcoming and hospitable. There is a lot of old money in the Historic District, where the streets are still “paved” in brick and the sewer system keeps flooding to a minimum during summer rains (unlike nearby communities). There is a car show and a bike show every month and the local branch of Hillsborough Community College is active in the community. Every year in late February or early March is the Strawberry Festival. The day of the Grand Parade, the city’s schools are closed, as are many local buisnesses for this fun and free event.

Mom and I moved to Louisville when I was 13. It’s a fairly well-developed city with a small-town feel. We moved a lot because my dad was in the service, but when I got to LouEvil (as the locals lovingly refer to it), I was well-received and managed to stay quite a while longer than anywhere else. Although I don’t live there anymore, mom still does and I travel there once every year and a half or so. I can’t wait for my next visit in June! Visit the Highlands! Spend some time on the belvedere!

It gets bigger and better every year! Derby is the best time to go to Louisville if you are looking for excitement! Thunder is the kick-off for Derby Festivities. It starts with a great airshow in the afternoon – always two weeks before Derby, which is always the first Saturday of May – followed by a spectacular hour and a half fireworks display that takes place on the Ohio River. The traffic is hell, but very much worth it!
