Not sure exactly what combination of factors made this place so special for me. Maybe it was because I was on a language/volunteering program, so I met and had interaction with many locals. Or maybe it was because I stayed in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca (Limon) which is an interesting, strange, small town in the Carribean. Or maybe it was because I was in an unhappy stage in my life, and seeing all the wonderful people, beautiful places, and a wide variety of animals made me alive and made me fall in love with life again.
