Recoleta
Ahhh the trees in Recoleta — 1 year ago
I loved B.A., Recoleta was great and the cafes all have these wonderful trees…the cemetary was fabulous and the whole of BA in general is lovely… although McDonalds needs to go elsewhere besides across the street from Recoleta Cemetary:)!I recomend just not using a tourist map but wandering around, as this offered me surprises (although be careful). Serrano Plaza (not in Recoleta) was actually my favorite place. I would recommend exploring Tango, The Canning was near my house and I learned there…its fabulous (although it takes about 6 months to really feel confident). I tango all the time in the states now..its just a great fabulous interesting hobby and the dollar/peso was great.I have some great tango shoes! I really liked wandering around B.A, especially Palermo Viejo and went on a boat trip to Uraguay which was great.Colonia was moody and atmospheric in their fall, the USA’s summer… People are more then willing to help you with your Spanish although you are kind of a target if you are American with the exchange rate..people will try to rip you off but you can’t blame them.Don’t wire money to reserve apartments….
