High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Small bits of it are nice
But mostly a lot of suburbs surrounding the tiny town centre.
Hughenden Park/Valley/House are nice, though.

over 6 years agoIt’s an interesting example of what happens when the “planned” town/city is taken to its logical conclusion.
Freed from the shackles of history or existing architecture, MK’s planners were free to design the town completely from the point of view of the car (and the bike – the town has an extensive cycle network, but people are scared of using it after dark).
It worked for a while, but the introduction of car park charges surely means that, even in this planned environment, the car isn’t a sustainable means of transport in the long run. Had the planners build light rail or tram lines as they went along, the demand for the centre’s car parks wouldn’t have been as great as it is.
over 6 years agoActually, that’s being unkind to Weston-super-Mare.
It really is just somewhere to pass through on the way to somewhere else. Ugly concrete architecture, campsite full of English people who make you want to hide your own nationality for fear of being lumped in with them, dirty campsite facilities.
We couldn’t wait to get away, to be honest.
