Summer Palace, Haidian District

Beautiful

One of the worlds most beautiful gardens. I spent a great afternoon walking through the gardens and around the palace. I particularly enjoyed the art that was so prevalent around the walk ways. This is a great place to spend an afternoon.

Mutianyu, Huairou

If in Beijing

I opted to head out to Mutianyu rather than Badaling due to stories of crowding. I was not disappointed! We arrived at the wall first thing in the morning and our group was the first on the wall. It was a fresh winter morning and having the wall to ourselves was amazing. We were not interrupted by other tourists and we really did have the whole place to ourselves. We rode the gondola up then walked across to a bobsled to ride back down.

One of the more surreal experiences to be on the wall with nobody there. Once in a lifetime opportunity for us and I loved it.

Moshi, Tanzania

Great Town

I loved Moshi. Stayed at Bristol Cottages which was fantastic. It was a little oasis. The best place to buy souvenirs was right next door to Bristol Cottages, no hassles, and prices marked, plus they will give the truth. Everyone will tell you what they are selling is authentic but in this store they will tell you if it is real or imitation.
