Kinoosao
The first time I went to this place — 1 year ago
I was staying in Lynn Lake, MB at the time, and since it was summer we decided to drive up to Kinoosao (AKA Co-op Point). Kinoosao can only be reached by road from Manitoba, even though it is located in Saskatchewan. It’s a tiny village set on a lake and pretty much run by the local co-op. When we pulled in to town, after a gruelling drive over gravel and dirt roads built on glacial morraine, we were followed around by some local natives in their pick-up truck, all brandishing shotguns and rifles. It was bizarre. We met up with the manager of the co-op for dinner and drinks, then headed back to Lynn Lake in the evening. The same natives followed us out of town for a few miles, still brandishing their weapons.
