My family and I spent a little time in Belize.. During our stay we had half our luggage stolen from our rental car while visiting a small ruin. Still had a fun time, regardless.

A tip I have about this place — 1 year ago
If you are planning on going to Mexico, do not stay at a resort. Leave Cancun. Rent a car, find a good travel guide book, and see the sights.
Also, watch your money when you are buying gas. locals often will switch bills on you, i.e. swapping a 200 peso note for a 20 peso note. They will take advantage of you if you don’t pay attention. If you catch them, yell at them and they will usually give your money back.
