Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Worth visiting!

But not worth living here

I think visiting Las Vegas is a must in life. It’s a fun city for tourists and the architecture of the hotel and casinos are beautiful. It is expensive however. It’s not cheap like it used to be. You used to be able to get prime rib for $4.99 and that’s almost unheard of now, especially on The Strip. Expect to pay a LOT more on The Strip. Las Vegas is great if you’re rich, you can see shows, eat fine dining, all the top designer shops. If you’re poor however, might want to check out downtown on Fremont. Fremont is more of the Las Vegas spirit anyway, the way it used to be, the way I would prefer it to be actually. The Strip is what Las Vegas is now; it’s crowded and very expensive.

To live here- nooooooooo. Unless once again you are very rich, you will most likely get sick of the drinking and gambling scene very fast. That’s pretty much all there is to do here. The traffic is horrible, mostly due to really bad drivers. The attitudes of people living here are worse than any place I have ever been to. People here often mask insecurity with overconfidence and feel the need to be rude to others to make themselves feel better. It has a very high crime rate, although you’re much more likely to be killed by stupid drivers than to be gunned down someplace. It has highest suicide rate, highest divorce rate, highest alcoholic rate… among many others. Plus the influx of people moving here is making cost of living skyrocket.

Once again, great to visit and horrible to live in.

PS: I am a local of 16 years, in case any others get confused. I thought it was clear otherwise I wouldn’t say it wasn’t worth living here, but maybe not.
