Perceptual shift
It took me a long time to figure out what seemed odd about Seoul, but I finally put my finger on it: it felt “foreign”, but unlike every other place I’ve been in the world that “felt foreign”, from Amsterdam to Tokyo to Vienna to Guangzhou, the cars were all the same size as home (instead of a mix of regular sized and “foreign-sized” cars).
