You have to go to the Baths

If you are Budapest, you have to go to the baths. It’s an experience.

I went to the one near Hero’s Square (starts with an S), but I’m sure the others are interesting in their own way.

Transylvania

(in Romania)

Worth visiting!

Things may be changing quickly

Now that Romania (and Hungary) are part of the EU, things in Transylvania may be changing quickly. The infrastructure may be expanded more rapidly.

It seemed to me in the Summer of 2007, that Transylvania is a place that is similar to 1880/1950/2000 USA. There are horse carts going down the road, hauling hay from haystack to barn. There are shade-tree mechanics who fix cars. There are satellite dishes and Internet connections on all/some of the houses.

The landscape (and maybe more) reminds me of Appalachian USA. The little villages nestled into the hills.

I don’t know if you want to go, but I want to go back some day, and see what more changes.

Explorium - Lexington Children's Museum

Inside Victorian Square, you will find the Explorium (previously Lexington Children’s Museum).

There are lots of interesting activities to keep kids entertained for an afternoon.

My kids always seem to want to go back.

News about this place

They are going to be opening a new section in the basement for student free-form study: lots of computers, whiteboards, etc.

It’s already operating, should be in full swing after spring break 2007.

Keeneland

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

When the horses are running at Keeneland, early on the Saturdays, they have an early breakfast. It costs maybe $5 for buffet breakfast, and there are lots of activities for kids.

I took my daughter for a 7th birthdy party, and they liked it.

I think it runs 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Call ahead or look at website to make sure you get the details.

The track announcer also describes what is going on in the morning workout.
