None of the photographs uploaded for Emporia, VA, seem to actually be from Emporia, VA. When I go back home I’ll try to get some good pictures to share (there’s no Emporia State University in Emporia! The only higher education place we’ve got is the Wrenn Campus Without Walls branch of Southside Virginia Community College).

Downtown Savannah is one of the most welcoming larger cities I’ve ever been in. Things are taken at a slow pace, cars don’t try to swerve into lanes without turning on their blinkers and everyone smiles and stops to say hello.

The Savannah College of Art and Design is nestled right in downtown and employs two british double-decker buses. (Bull Street is also home to a british telephone box.) Moss litters the trees and every step you take puts you into some historic place or another.

There are too many fantastic sites to tell you about here; when/if you visit, watch out for horse-and-carriages. You might want to bring your walking shoes because you could find yourself parking and sight-seeing on foot.
