Mount Vernon, Virginia

Mount Vernon, colonial paradise

I have volunteered at Mount Vernon several times, and every time fell deeper in love with it than the time before! My greatest love is for the working farm down at the riverside, with the adorable sheep and sweet cow and horses that run the 16 -sided barn. What an incredible piece of land, and admirable that it’s owner ran it so efficiently, and that the ladies of the association that currently own it take such magnificent care of it! Fantastic place, only go there with plenty of time, because you’ll probably not want to leave.

Tanglewood, Lenox

The most amazing summer yet! "If Music be the food of love", there will never be a famine in Lenox...

Tanglewood is THE summer hang-out for a ton of major music hot-shots, and the program I attended, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, while not on the Main grounds themselves, afforded us an unbelievable access to amazing music all summer long. Quite a town- we once saw Sejeii Ozawa at the local pizza place. Way cool? Beyond cool. Yeah….
