Six Seven Restaurant And Lounge, The Edgewater

Untitled

I went here yesterday for the recent 30 for $30 restaurant promotion (which the 25 for $25 has now morphed into).

The service was universally excellent. I’m always happy to see that in Seattle because service tends to be very mediocre here. There was a nice view of the bay from the dining area. They kept the lighting very dim, though, which I do not really care for myself. It’s much harder to enjoy food when you can barely see it.

The food was very good. I was with four other people, so everyone was able to try a variety of things, and we did sample a few other starters off their main menu.

Suffice it to say, the $30 promotion was a great deal here. Everything was very good, although not totally mind-blowing. I don’t know about coming back for the normal menu, however, as the significantly higher prices would not be justified with enough added enjoyment for me. Although if one liked the ambiance and service, I could see how others would disagree. Certainly worth visiting, though.

Seattle Public Library - Montlake Branch, Montlake

Untitled

I am currently sitting in the library as I am hanging out here while my spouse takes in a Medical Spanish class nearby.

The library itself is pretty nice, and obviously quite new, and at 6pm there are a reasonable amount of people here partaking of the services. It still pretty small, though.

A rather big design flaw is the fact the children’s area is not separate from the rest of the library, and since it is basically a big rectangular box, kids being kids will be very very very very very very loud.

Falafel King, Pike Place Market

Untitled

This is a very small place on First that I had always walked by but had never entered. There is a counter inside you could eat at, or more likely you could eat outside at one of their tables. Services was good and friendly.

I had a falafel sandwich whose tahini sauce had enough raw garlic in it to saturate my body and create a meter-wide garlicky aura around me. Quite the radioactive substance, really, but I love garlic so I didn’t mind. The sandwich itself was a little on the “meh” side, unfortunately. I’d probably get the plate next time instead of the sandwich/pita, though.
