Kerala

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Beautiful Kerala

Kerala is an amazing place. I went for the first time, on my third trip to India. It is unlike anywhere else in the country. Simply beautiful, serene and peaceful. Highly recommend a backwater boat trip, and the tea plantations. FOr a beach resort I’d recommend Varkala – very laid back with a fun hippie vibe.

Lago di Como

Worth visiting!

Beautiful Lake Como

Lake Como is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world I have ever been. I was there two days and within the first ten minutes was ready to come back for a month! It’s a must see!

Udaipur

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I would recommend highly Udaipur. This is a small, quiet and laid-back city in Rajasthan. Many of the so-called “Golden Triangle” tour packages featuring Agra and Rajasthan do not include Udaipur…this is a mistake. Of all the places I have been in my two trips to India, Udaipur is my favorite – in fact perhaps my favorite place in all the world. It is a beautiful city built between two man-made lakes, and palaces abound. One palace is the beautiful Lake Palace which seems to float on the water. Behind it is a gorgeous island, Jag Mandir, with an incredible temple on it. This place is completely charming and captivating. It is like Venice plopped in the middle of exotic India. Don’t miss it!

The last time I went to this place

It is quite true that a trip to India can change your life. I have heard people say that India is a place people love or they hate. I cannot imagine anyone hating it. There is a culture shock if you’re a Westerner, and perhaps people who can’t take anything too different from home would hate it. But you have to embrace all of India! The noises, the smells, the hassles, the crowds, the endless taxi drivers and street hawkers….but alongside that is the incredible beauty, the brightly colored saris, the gorgeous buildings, exotic history, and warm and wonderful people.

For me, it is the people and the culture that changed my life. This is a place like no other. If you leave your home behind, and the self that you are there, and embrace India, she will richly reward you. Charming, hypnotic, spellbinding. The people are gracious, hospitable, and willing to share and give anything. The places to see are incredible.
