I spent a few weeks in Malaysia and the most relaxing time we spent was in the Cameron Highlands. Up there, you can get away from the heat. And we really loved the hiking and tea plantations.

Visited New Mexico in Feburary. We saw sun, rain, snow, hail and sun again within a couple hours. Land of Enchantment!

The Taiwanese aborigine culture is very visible here. We saw some sod dwellings built into the side of hills as well as some altars used in the aborigine religious rituals.

Green Island is more developed. But Lanyu (Orchid Island) is more wild and has equally lovely views and good snorkeling.

This is a fun spot for a few days off the East Coast of Taipei.

Although it’s known mostly for it’s large Pennitentary, it also has some lovely scenic areas

Best of all, you can’t miss the Seawater hot springs! We happened to go during a full moon, so we were able to soak in hot springs while watching the moonlight on the ocean waves. Unforgettable.

We stayed in a small hostel and rented a scooter and circled the island a few times during our stay.

Highly recommend it!

I recently spent a wonderful weekend with friends who live in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is pretty small and we rode our bikes around town – to the mission, downtown, to the beach. I just soaked it all in… the flowers and the sunshine the beautiful neighborhoods. In the evening, we walked along the beach and watched the sun set.

It’s the best of northern california and southern california.

The only problem is that it’s so expensive and gentified!
