over 5 years agoTulum is a great mid-winter escape, but don’t expect too much of a cultural adventure. The place is full of tourists from the US as well as plenty of expats who own/run many of the local establishments.
If you are looking for a more authentic experience, then try going further south to the Sian Kaan Biosphere or go inland.
