Memory Bound Scrapbooks! This place rocks!!! Great staff and wonderful crops! If you are into scrapbooking and find yourself in Ankeny – go there!

I visit every year for a youth camp called SPEC, where I teach various leadership classes. My grandma lived there until she passed away. So I remember spending holidays in good ol’ Lamoni. There is an awesome pizza place called “Pizza Shack” that everyone has to go to at least once! Great owners!
I now live in Kansas and my family lives in Des Moines, so we stop occasionally.

I lived there for a year. I worked at Indian Hills Community College as a Sign Language Interpreter. It is an ok town. I did enjoy my work there, but it was definitely a “college” town. The basketball team at IHCC rocks!!!!

I earned my AA degree at Iowa Western Community College there! My degree is in Interpreting for the Deaf. I also worked at the Iowa School for the Deaf while I lived there. Yes, we would go across the state line for fun, but there were some good times in town too!

I am 36 years old and I have only missed the Iowa State Fair one year that I can remember. It has always been a “father-daughter” event in my family. The one year I did not go was the summer my son was born, it was too hot to take him at such a young age. I tried to sneak out of the house with him though!
Must see and do on a yearly basis!!!!

We have lived here 2 1/2 years and we love it!!! There are tons of community events and it is a very friendly town. My area is in the “slums” but it isn’t bad at all!!!
Great place to raise kids!
