Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park

Not just a big hole!

An amazing place to hike, camp, sightsee, take pictures, make love…whatever!! This place is beautiful. The safest way to do it is to drive to either the south or north rim and stay at one of the many hotel accomodations available. The north rim is not commercialized like the south rim and wonderful for peace and quiet. If you are more adventurous, then hike down, camp at the bottom and return the next day… or get into great shape and do a rim to rim hike… It’s worth saying that many have become disoriented and died doing such excursion. So get in good shape, bring lots of water, food, and don’t hike during the hottest times of the day. The temp can climb in excess of 115 degrees Fahrenheit at the bottom. Have fun and take tons of pics!

Puerto Rico, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

La Isla del Encanto

I love Puerto Rico! Born and raised here, I visit often. The people are loving and caring, love to party, and socialize well late into the night. The island is full of history. Visit Old San Juan, the art and history museums, and the beaches all around. Go to Ponce and visit the old Fire Station and the art museum there. Have a brazo gitano in Mayaguez, it’s delicious! Go to Laguna Grande in Fajardo and visit there one of the three bioluminescent bays in PR. You’ve never seen anything like it. Meet the locals, most speak English or work hard at it. And work on your Spanish… they’ll help you out! and laugh a little with you!

Adelaide, South Australia

Adelaide

I just got back from Adelaide, South Australia. From the US or any part of the world, get ready for a long flight. The City is small and most everything is within walking distance. Adelaide has an organized bus system and reliable trains that can take you to the beach in less than 45 minutes. Remember to look right-left-right before crossing the street. If you rent a bike, the rear brake will likely be on your left hand instead of your right. No fun going over your handlebars unexpectedly! The bike path next to the River Torrens will take you right to the beach also. The people are beautiful, the friendliest I’ve met, and they’ll do everything they can to help you out. Don’t waste water, Adelaide is suffering through a drought. Visit the parks, hold a Koala, feed a Kangaroo, and take tons of pics. Visit a winery and drink heaps of wine…it’s cheap! Have a blast! Oh, and learn some of the lingo…it helps!
