I was at a conference for much of my time in Dallas, but I did get to go out a couple of times. I found the people were incredibly friendly and nice.
The weather is very hot in summer!

What Columbus might lack in big buildings downtown, it makes up for it with the nicely-restored neighborhoods around the central business district, much of which can be attributed to the large gay population in the city (one of the largest in the country).
German Village, Short North, Victorian Village, Italian Village, university area, and Olde Towne East are just some of the areas with great 1870-1930s houses and architecture.
There is also a lot of renewal going on to put neighborhoods/condos on old parking lots, and the Arena district is fun if you don’t mind watching the hockey team lose!

The University, Five Points, and the Vista are great. The capitol is nice too (except for the flag in front of it, IMHO).
The architecture throughout much of downtown and other parts of the city is ugly and boring. Columbia’s conservative/old money mentality also keeps the city backwards while Charlotte and Greenville flourish

Pretty, quiet, and quaint. I liked the beautiful churches and friendly people

Neat mix of old with modern. The Jewish/WWII history was also enlightening

Besides La Grande Place, the city was more bureaucratic than anything else. Some interesting museums, but the city lacked charm and was a little dirty

Hard to get to without a car (had to leave at 400 from Innsbruck) and there isn’t much to do. People are nice and the villages are nice, but it’s too small
