I’m really excited! My husband and I are planning a trip there at the end of March for our 2 year wedding anniversary. :) I’m really looking forward to shopping, seeing the Andy Warhol exhibit, checking out new restaurants, etc. I’m trying to make a list of things to see, so feel free to recommend something to me. Just go to my blog at the top of my page and look for my Chicago entry…and recommend away! I’m also looking for Stabilo pens, so if you have an idea of where I can find them in Chicago I will love you forever! :D

I love Chattanooga! I used to go every summer as a kid to visit my aunt and uncle. They owned Trip’s Seafood restaurant, so I would help them out there sometimes. Mostly, I remember my trips to Rock City, the aquarium (which was my fave), Ruby Falls, and Lookout Mountain. I also remember the Brach’s candy store downtown. As a kid, that place really fascinated me. :)

I live here now! I am originally from a very small city in SC…so small that we barely make the map! :) I’m still getting used to this city, but I’m learning!
There is seldom anything that I cannot find here when it comes to shopping. I love the different ethnic foods. I had never had Indian, Korean, West Indies, African, etc. food, and now I see (or rather taste) what I have been missing! I also love that there is public transit. I don’t love the transit, but I love that there is transit. :P Back home you have to drive everywhere or you are screwed over. So it is nice to have this option available!
Besides all of that, I find the city inspirational. Every time I visit the downtown core, I want to either grab my camera or my notebook. My fashion sense has grown tremendously, as well. I love how everyone seems to rock their own style instead of looking like copies of one another. I’m learning to step out of my comfort zone a bit and experiment.
So there you go! That is part of my little southern view on this big ol’ city…

I went July 2007 for Canada Day. I absolutely fell in love with the city! The architecture of the buildings is simply beautiful. I took a ghost tour one of the nights and learned a lot about the history of many of the buildings. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guard really moved me.
I’m so excited to be seeing more of this country, because so very much of it is new to me. I am starting to fall in love with my new home country!
