If you don't require a big city
This is where I went to college and where my partner’s family lives, so I love going back for a visit. If you’re looking for excitement, this is totally NOT the place to go. The things about LC that are best are -
  • The night sky
  • The Organ Mountains at sunset
  • The desert plants and animals
  • The wide open spaces
  • Unique local Mexican food.

If you like to strip off your shirt and go for long walks in the desert by yourself, go for long drives down back roads without other cars pushing you to go faster, stroll around old town looking at cheesy shops with Mexican imports and have one HELL of an Enchilada – then you’ll enjoy your trip.

Not worth visiting!

Now even Foggier

I moved to El Cerrito from Berkeley about 4 years ago. It’s an ok kind of sleepy place, but it tends to be cloudlocked more than anywhere else I’ve been in the the East Bay. But I’m biased – I’m moving away shortly, back to New Mexico.
