Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Untitled

Went a couple summers ago. Do not do what we did – went for a hike, did not plan for rain, ended up walking about 12 miles and about 2 miles still left back to camp. So we were walking back on the road, drenched after a 12 mile hike through wet bushes, scary burnt trees that whistled, and berry patches – prime bear territory. Despite the cold wetness, once cleaned up and dried out and fed I have very fond memories. However plan for rain and pack more than a few chocolates and granola bars.

Duluth, Minnesota

Untitled

Duluth is a small but cozy city on Lake Superior. Bring warm clothes in the winter – it can be bitter – like negative 20 bitter. Great for winter sports, sitting by the fireplace with a beer and friends and hiking in the other seasons. Known as a place for extreme athletes in the silent sports. You can meet them at the Brewhouse very often.
