A review of this place: not as bad as i thought it would be

i liked that thrift store underneath the church. and the bar that didn’t have any beer on draft. and the shows.

i saw Camera Obscura here, on the mainstage. i hadn’t been there before, but i think it’s a really good space – it has the respectability of a dive, but the sound (at least upstairs) is still quality, and there’s the Red Room downstairs so when you get kicked out of the show, you have someplace to go. smart design: i like it.

Worth visiting!

not all fountains are created equal

we were wandering around looking for this damn fountain FOREVER. my friend who was navigating took us to two other fountains first, each time declaring that THIS was the Trevi. it was not. eventually we did find the trevi, however, and it was very nice.

would be nicer if it was deserted...

pretty. nice place to eat gelato or other sweets. we were hassled by men and people selling posters of Mr. T and other greats while we were there. we still went back a second time, though. oh, and there’s a bizarrely nice McDonald’s around the corner.

Bocca della Verità

Worth visiting!

funny...

the attraction is more for the kitsch than the history, but we went in the off-season so no one was there… actually, we had trouble finding it. but it was a nice out-of-the-way thing to do.

i actually went here because i was living in england at the time and i couldn’t get tickets to see The Strokes in london, so i (after much trial) was able to buy tickets on an italian-language ticketing site to see them in Rome. so then i thought, hell, why not make a trip of it. so two of my friends went with me, to orvieto, firenze, and roma. bellisimo.
