Miami

Worth visiting!

Untitled

didnt get to spend much time here, but nevertheless a few things were easy to see. first this city is very diverse (socially and culturally). The airport was bananas! It is a huge place which was clear to see from the plane as we flew in. I kept looking for arod’s house, which i have yet to find! :( Anyway, the weather was beautiful which is normal for miami from what i gathered. The restaurants and food were nummy and the night life is crrraaazzzzyyyyy. Again, didnt spend much time here but got a great view of south beach and the ocean.

Cozumel

Worth visiting!

we loved it here!

We spend a bulk of our time at Chankanaab Park which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and every picture was like a postcard. However the ride there revealed what the side of mexico that i expect reveals how mexico really is….poor. While in chankanaab, we participated in the dolphin encounter. We were able to pet them, snorkel with them, swim with them. it was pretty phenominal…we held on to their fins and the pulled us around and we were able to give them kisses. The workers shot video footage of the encounter so we’ll have it to remember for always. Mexico is very beautiful and also offers the chance to see mayan ruins and other historical/cultural activities. Plenty to do!

Grand Cayman

Worth visiting!

pretty!

Well i went to grand cayman in summer of 2007. Its home to many fun things like sting ray city and the turtle farm (neither of which i participated in due to lack of time). theres the 7-mile beach which if i remember correctly is actually only 5 miles long. There was plenty of water activities to do. Its very commercialized and very expensive. We did not get a lot of stuff other than some small souveniers. Georgetown is the port of call for many cruiselines and it can get pretty busy. The best thing to do here is scuba or snorkeling. Oh and dont forget the rum cake!!!! I recommend it, its very beautiful here.

Jamaica

Worth visiting!

horseback riding in jamaica

in summer of 2007, my boyfriend and i went to jamaica and unfortunately was not the best weather for outdoor fun. However, we did spend an afternoon going horseback riding on the beach and out into the ocean. That was a ton of fun even though my horses name was “special”. I got teased (and am still getting teased) because i was given the “special” horse. haha. I dont have much experience or suave when it comes to riding horses, and my horse was a bit jumpy and “pissy” the entire time because he was kicked in the chops in the coral for sniffing another horse’s rear end. What a fun time! Hopefully our next vacation there will have better weather!

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

Worth visiting!

fun fun fun

I grew up in southern michigan, and we used to go to the dunes quite a bit. My brother and i loved it. Flip flops are a must though because the sand is HOOTTTT! A growing danger has been growing with swimming in the area due to the undertow so be very careful. Nevertheless its pretty awesome to see all that sand. What a neat nat’l park!

Gatlinburg

Worth visiting!

visiting family in tennessee

Its been a good 10 years since i’ve been to tennesee so im sure much has changed. What i remember of this place…. the mountains are very beautiful and i loved driving around in the country just staring out the window at the scenery and taking pictures of the mountains. I remember Gatlinburg being full of little shops and being very touristy, but hey isnt that why some of us go? Some days were very busy and crowded, but i got to do some fun things. Its a family friendly place with lots of fun stuff to do and see. You can stay in town or travel out into the mountains. You cant go and NOT experience the mountains, hiking, or caves!

A Game at Yankee Stadium

Worth visiting!

Yankee Game

I’ve been to Yankee Stadium several times for ball games even though I live in Indiana. My boyfriend at the time (now fiance’) are big time yankees fans and have been forever, so this is something we both love and enjoy doing together. Nothing compares to seeing the yankees IN THE BRONX! We spent a week in nyc and attended the 3 day series against boston in mid-september of 2006 for my birthday. The afternoon games are nice but im a bigger fan of the night games. I love the lights, sounds, cheering, smells….ok all that goes on throughout the game. We really had a great time and cant wait until next years trip back to the bronx!! GO YANKEES!

Labadee

(in Haiti)

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

was in June 2007. It was a port of call on my 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. It was a wonderful and beautiful place. Sandy beach area and moutain scenery. The water was a beautiful color of blue. It made for a great relaxing day. Theres plenty of water activities to do like parasailing, jet skiing, swimming, and an aquapark (more for youngsters). This was one of my favorite stops and definitely worth visiting.
