This isn’t the beach you saw in the ads for Greece. The water’s rough; the rocks are slippery.

UW Bothell shares a lovely campus with Cascadia Community College. The area features a restored wetland and buildings from the Richard Truly farm.

My family was on a road trip one summer and my birthday happened to be while we were in Banff. I got to pick any restaurant to celebrate at and I chose The Grizzly House! I remember calling our table from the bathroom. It was awesome.

The walk on Marginal Way was too cool. Don’t forget your camera and don’t walk too fast!

Kithira is certainly a place to discover the less-traveled road in Greece. Few non-Greek tourists ever visit but I found it rewarding to trek all the way down the Peloponnese to see the island for myself.

It actually is completely worth visiting, but if you can afford to stay somewhere less touristy I would recommend it.

Until I had visited the Tetons, the mountains I was most familiar with were the beloved Cascades. The Cascades have some rolling foothills before they ascend to soft, rounded peaks. The Tetons blew me away by cracking the flat terrain around them before soaring to craggy, sharp peaks. Really amazing.

We came across this place accidentally on our way to Yellowstone. After seeing the name on the map the decision to take a short detour was a no-brainer. We spent the day running around the caves and racing up the domes of ash. It’s totally worth a visit if you are nearby.

Las Vegas was a bargain five years ago. It really was! It seems like prices for hotels have skyrocketed recently. If you can find a cheap room go for it… otherwise you might try somewhere else.

Crossing the border on the way up from Seattle can be a total drag but once you do you are only 10 minutes from White Rock. The beach is great!
